Kayaking
The North Platte River offers a one of a kind experience for any activity. Large, spectacular bluffs and wide-open western vistas border this crystal clear river. Kayaking and canoeing in Wyoming, you’ll find the wildlife plentiful. It is not uncommon to encounter deer, antelope, blue herons, Canadian geese, a flock of white pelicans and bald eagles in one mellow afternoon on the river.

Birding
Birding is the observation and study of birdswith the naked eye, through a visual enhancement device like binoculars and telescopes, or by listening for bird calls. Birding often involves a significant auditory component, as many bird species are more readily detected and identified by ear than by eye. Most birdwatchers pursue this activity mainly for recreational or social reasons.

Backpacking | Hiking
Each season offers a new vista for your hiking experience in the 1,093,618 acre Medicine Bow National Forest or the 1,124,744 acres in Routt National Forest. In the early spring hike through the still melting snowdrifts of the winter, in summer through meadows filled with wildflowers, in the fall the colors of the gold of the aspen. With your only company the curious deer, “whistle pig” or high soaring eagle. Mix in the smell of sage and tall stands of timber at any time of the year. Our guests report they have had the perfect hiking experience.
Trails vary from .1 mile and handicap accessible trail to the 45-mile Continental Divide Scenic Trail. Open from Memorial Day until the snow closes it, usually in late October.
